Wedding Expenses
Planning a wedding means you need to start budgeting carefully because weddings are such that before you know it the costs will escalate out of your pocket and you won’t know how it happened. Girls grow up with images of the prince walking down the aisle where her prince charming awaits but real life is different. If you budget carefully then not only will you have a wedding that is manageable but you will also start your new life with some money in the account.
The first expense incurred is the engagement ring. That where it all begins. Tradition decrees that when a guy proposes to his lady love he does so with a ring. Of course there are exceptions to the rule but this is the generally accepted belief. One of the biggest myths about engagement rings is the one where they say that the cost of your ring is a measure of your love. Ergo, the more expensive the more you love your girl. But by buying a ring within your budget, it does not mean you love her any less. It shows that you have a practical side to you as well. If she loves you she will accept whatever ring you can afford. Your best bet is to design one yourself within your budget so it is an exclusive piece.
Next are the wedding bands which are going to be on your fingers for the rest of your life. Here also you can get a matching set within your budget. You need to get designs which you will like looking at years down the line. If you want them to be personal then you can get the rings engraved for each other. These can be a lifelong memory of the wedding and all that goes with it.
With the rings out of the way, you can start your budgeting by making out a list of all the things that need to be done. Start with an outside budget estimate and then work backwards. The basic budget would need to account for the reception, the bridal attire, the music, invitations, cake and favors, the flowers and of course the photography.
If you make some adjustments then you can fit in a honeymoon as well. A floor and ceiling cost of your disbursements can be set up using percentages or dollar amounts. Make sure you have done all the required research before you settle on some cost. Ask your friends and family and you just might get some handy hints and tips on how to go about getting a good deal. Keep track of the payouts as you make them so you know where the money is being spent. This will keep stress at bay. The control will make you feel good about things and you might just save on a lot too. You can maybe add a little of what you save to your wedding gown to give it that extra pizzazz.
